At inspirere unge hjerner til at engagere sig i videnskabelig forskning og innovation er kernen i et samfunds økonomiske udvikling og velstand. Vores liv og fysiske systemer er i høj grad baseret på videnskab og teknologi. Dens betydning rækker ud over fysiske og biologiske dimensioner. Menneskelig udvikling, velstand og velbefindende i et samfund er kritisk afhængig af dets resultater inden for videnskabelig forskning og innovation.
Derfor er det vigtigt at inspirere unge sind til fremtidige engagementer inden for videnskab. Dette fremhæver behovet for kommunikationsmidler til at tænke, tilgå og udveksle ideer og information og til at formidle videnskabelige fremskridt til jævnaldrende og et bredt publikum.
